Kim's Birthday Cake....a little late.
Yes, as her mom, I do know when Kim's birthday is. AND, I do know that it is the same date each year. Still, the cake baking and decorating kept getting put on the back burner. So AFTER we had her birthday dinner [on the day AFTER her birthday], I finally finished decorating it and delivered it first thing this morning to the school at which she works. Happy Birthday, Kim. Mom loves you.

Strawberry Shortcake for Kayla
Kayla's mom called to order Kayla's birthday cake...the theme? Well, Kayla likes Lightning McQueen, Dora, and princesses. Hmmm....So Mom and I decided on a Princess Dora. Then about a week before the event, Kayla changed her mind -- Strawberry Shortcake and the decision was made.

Celebration of a Magnificent Kind!
As was usual with most students, Kirby went his way after graduation and we lost touch. Through various people, I heard of his marriage and his children....and then devastatingly of his wife's cancer. This was several years ago.
A few weeks ago, Kirby contacted me and wanted a cake to celebrate his wife's 5th year anniversary of being cancer-free! How honored I was that he should ask me to be a part of this celebration.
Happy Special Anniversary to you, Shelley. May you have many years of good health and much happiness.

A dear friend called to order a red velvet cake for her daughter. So Amanda ended up with an Auburn orange and blue decorated cake with a deep CRIMSON inside [Roll Tide!] Take a look!

Snowmen in Alabama
For the first time in many, many years, snow fell on Christmas in Alabama. It melted as fast as it fell at my house, but in many places snowball fights were in full swing and snowmen were built with relish. So what happens when the normal Alabama winter sun comes out after the snow?
