A Cake for MiMi!
I got a call last night from a former colleague. He is a great guy, always smiling and laughing, but he is a TERRIBLE procrastinator! He called on Monday night needing a birthday cake for his mom in TWO days! YIKES! He left the decor up to me totally, just said it was for his 3 daughters' Mimi [grandmother]! So this is what I came up with....Take a look:
Baby Bump Cake
My dear friend, Kim, and her sweet hubby, Curt are pregnant with Adam, who will make his appearance in July! Several friends celebrated the upcoming event at a fun time shower with a fun time cake! Just take a look!

A Pair of 50's!
One of my dearest friends and her husband are BOTH turning 50 this weekend! Jackie asked me long ago to do a cake for Keith, and I decided that my gift for Jackie's 50th would be a cake for her!
Keith travels worldwide with his job, so Jackie wanted a "Where's Waldo?" cake...And Jackie is a retired band director, so what better for her than a music themed cake!
If you knew these 2 and the struggles they have been through over the years, you would understand why this birthday milestone is so much more than that. It is a celebration above all celebrations, and a blessing among so many blessings.

April's April Bride's Cake
April, a former student, honored me by asking me to create her bride's cake. The bottom tier was a lush red velvet, while the second and top tiers were white velvet. Wedding cakes me so nervous because I know how important they are to brides....and as a result, I forgot to take pictures of the cake prior to the event. So I am relying on photos from the bride! Thanks, April -- and my wish for you and Cody is a long life of happiness and contentment!

Happy Birthday, Dan....and War Eagle [?]
Ok....Dan's wife called me in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to ask for an Auburn cake. Really? Yes, really. The "34" on the jersey represents Dan's age, as well as his favorite Auburn player's number - Bo Jackson! His sweet twin daughters helped him celebrate! Just look!

So finally last night, a few friends gathered and celebrated with one of Bette's favorite characters, Minnie Mouse! I love you, Bette, and this cake was made with love!

Kim's Birthday Cake....a little late.
Yes, as her mom, I do know when Kim's birthday is. AND, I do know that it is the same date each year. Still, the cake baking and decorating kept getting put on the back burner. So AFTER we had her birthday dinner [on the day AFTER her birthday], I finally finished decorating it and delivered it first thing this morning to the school at which she works. Happy Birthday, Kim. Mom loves you.

Strawberry Shortcake for Kayla
Kayla's mom called to order Kayla's birthday cake...the theme? Well, Kayla likes Lightning McQueen, Dora, and princesses. Hmmm....So Mom and I decided on a Princess Dora. Then about a week before the event, Kayla changed her mind -- Strawberry Shortcake and the decision was made.
This is a delicious strawberry cake with Strawberry Shortcake decor.
