Two Baby Shower Cakes
I had orders for the same weekend…two baby shower cakes. One for a little girl and one for a little boy. When the ladies ordered their individual cakes, they each showed me a picture of what they wanted. The two pictures were EXACTLY the same. Here are the cakes!

A Stroller Centerpiece
Ms. Rita wanted a cake with a baby in a stroller for a baby shower she was hostessing. Unfortunately, I had to be out of town that particular weekend, so we decided that I would make a cake "dummy" for her centerpiece. This is NOT cake but styrofoam covered by fondant, topped with her stroller.

This little cake was created to sit atop a cupcake tower for a baby shower. The parents-to-be have chosen to wait until birth to discover the gender of their precious one. The yellow and mint green decor reflected this decision.

Baby Boy Shower Tower
Connie asked for a cupcake tower with 2 dozen cupcakes for the soon-to-be mother of a little boy. She even gave me a piece of the fabric she was using for a table runner. Here is the fabric:

Shower Cakes
After several cupcake towers, I was asked to bake a couple of shower cakes. I experimented with buttercream frosting, cornelli lace with royal icing, and making objects with gumpaste.
More Cupcakes
Baby Showers seem to be the best venue for cupcakes! Sweet filled cupcakes with a baby sleeping on the tower topper cake just seems to work for these special times.
