A "Dummy" Cake!

I see all kinds of techniques and cake designs on the internet but rarely have any time to just practice.  But today was just one of those days....no cakes due and no specific plans for the day.  So I used my cake "dummies" [styrofoam cake tiers] to try some things I think are lovely -- pleating, quilting, and stenciling fondant.  It was great fun, and NO PRESSURE!

A "Sweet as Candy" Party

Lainey and Aubrey celebrated their 3rd birthday with a "Sweet as Candy" birthday party.  Months before their birthday, their mom found the perfect cake for the celebration! She always challenges me with her cake ideas, but I think it was a success! The 2 tier base and the lid are all cake, and the bubblegum is real. How much fun is this!
